Justin and Kish both swiped right on Bumble, not expecting to find love but, well, what will bee will bee.
Their first date was a sweet chat about their mutual love of the mountains and shared childhood experiences growing up as a Pastor’s Kid and Missionary’s Kid. They had a lot of fun together and kept hanging out as friends, but nothing was too romantic.
Justin felt like he might want more than friendship, but he wasn’t entirely sure what Kish was thinking. After some Netflix-level suspense, he popped the “romantic date” question, and Kish took her time… but eventually said yes.
Before the “romantic date” could even happen, they got closer and almost kissed–but, oh, Kish’s nerves hit like a plot twist. Undeterred, Justin showed up the next Saturday with flowers, sealing the romantic deal.
In May, Justin made things official (finally!). Their trust and care for each other continued to deepen, spurred on by thoughtful gestures and intentional effort from both sides.
A few months later, Justin started looking for a new place to live… and Kish mentioned she didn’t want to wait another year to get married. Justin took that cue to heart and found a seven-month lease, and they began planning their wedding.
What’s not to love? Justin is the kindest, most thoughtful, most caring man I have ever met. He is so emotionally intelligent and actually intelligent. He understands me better than anyone ever has. He is SO funny. He has really embraced life-and lived a lot of it in a short 30 years. He is adventurous, curious, faith-filled, go-with-the-flow, stubborn, goofy, kinda nerdy, and has a heart of gold.
If you had told me earlier this year that I would be dating, engaged to, and marrying the man beyond my wildest dreams in just a few months, I would have laughed in your face.
I am not one to believe in soul-mates, but I believe we really are a perfect complement for one another. He is the biggest gift I have ever received, and I hope to never take him for granted. You’re really great, J. I love you!
I did not ever expect to ever meet anyone as amazing as Kish. Someone so kind, adventurous, fun, gorgeous and funny? I definitely won the online dating lottery. A lot of my friends can tell you that I always made fun of them for how quickly they met someone and got married, and I definitely thought that person would never be me. But when meeting Kish my views completely changed. Never have I been more in love or more certain someone is right for me.
As our relationship has grown and developed I have only gotten to love Kish more. Her capacity to care and love is incredible. I can’t get enough of her and love all of our adventures together. She is patient and sweet even when she is stressed or tired. She is such a wonderful person and I feel so grateful for all of our time together! Kish, you’re amazing.
